I think someone started this thread just to spite me. So in turn, I'm only going to reply to Heather:
The only reason I forgive you for that GC poster in your room is because of the fact that you also have Fu....hmm.... okay maybe it's because you own Spice Wo..... huh. I'm just going to stick with that we're best friends.... Yea.... let's go with that. :|

PS - Has nobody mentioned NOFX yet? What a sad... sad world...

nofx are good..really good, but they aren't classic's like some of the bands I mentioned. They play pop punk, too..it's just raw pop punk, and they steer clear of the mainstream, they refuse to be played on mtv and the like. i have major respect for them. they're really cool guys, and have been awesome to me each time i met them after shows.

I don't think you can label a song here and a song there, that's just pushing being nitpicky. Someone once told me that NOFX sold out... that's just... lame. How can a band sell out if they don't change their ethics or beliefs, and don't even know when radios DO play their songs? ...
Oh wait, I forgot. They do want to be on the radio... They even SING about it.. 'Please play this song on the radio'... (It's got ooh's and ahh's in all the right places).
Someone mentioned the Vandals? Thumbs up. Propagandhi? Excellent. Sure we can go into who's a classic and who's not, but what's the point of comparing bands? To each their own, and no 2 bands are the same. Well... except maybe Blink 182 and Sum 41... and Good Charlotte... and The Ataris... and ......*drifts off*

Hey bruce, Black halos are back together! going to see them sept 19! I find the guy quite fun to hang with (he managed my friends band for a bit). Good charlotte have good music, but I hate their persona! And punk rock, has changed, yes... but It should still be dirty, uncut, and balls to walls with energy. The band would be much better without their lead singer... He is a wank... hehe.

I find nofx funny as hell but The singers voice just makes me want to punch the guy in the face But none the less they have songwriting talent not everybody can make things funny as hell and still have a message in the song.Bad religion is kicking *** still 20 years later and they only had a few moments where they nearly gave into the whole mainstream lets get rich Bs and sound the same as everyone else crap
But thats what sells but the whole music industry is going down the tube so hopefully they will finally get beck to what it was and let music be music

"please play this song on the radio" is a JOKE. if you actually talked to them or listened to their lyrics, you would know that. jeeze. Anyway, who cares..you have your opinions about nofx and I have mine..but don't talk about things you don't know, okay?
How did nofx sell out? I have never heard them on the radio. ever. and even if I did, what difference does it make? Does being on the radio mean you've sold out? Because then the clash, the ramones, even the NY dolls have sold out. I don't think so.
I hate the term "sold out"..music evolves..so do people, that doesn't mean they "sold out" for money.

wow, I sound really snotty in that post
I respect other people's opinions on music, definately..so I apologize if I pissed anyone off. Everyone has their opinions, even me, and I can be a bit hostile when expressing myself sometimes. Sorry about that

Hey dude, not only did you sound snotty, you also proved how you can't sense sarcasm ...
1) I never said NOFX sold out...
2) My sarcasm literally could have been cut with a knife... NOFX are my favourite band.

I guess I could say the same to you, seeing as my very next line after talking about that song was a line from it.
I never even talked about bands that actually sold out... I was saying I think it's LAME for people to say bands sell out. "Selling out" is the stupidest term ever, and it basically means that any band that's accepted money or compensation for playing a 'gig' has "sold out".
Sorry if >I< sounded 'snotty'.

Heh, I wasn't just talking to you! I was talking to just about everyone at the same time. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.
It's hard to detect sarcasm over the internet, I suppose.

Hmmm...how'd I know that crucified would be in this thread? *LOL* I listen to all sorts of music...mostly black metal, goth and industrial, but, I also get in the mood for punk. Can never go wrong there. I personally don't care for Good Charlotte, but, I do listen to Bad Religion, NOFX, Iggy, The Vandals, Pennywise, Misfits (old s**t), Sex Pistols, Blink (old s**t), and Bouncing Souls (thanks Crucified ).

hey kristina...
you have some lovely taste in music, especially for your age!
i find it funny though, that you were accusing those of liking Good Charlotte as young, when you're a youngin too!
i was the same way at your age...
