Re: Future snakes!

Definitely Retics, Burms, and Anacondas. Probably not hot snakes, hot snakes and centipedes freak me out.

Re: Future snakes!

Ugh:

ETB
Dwarf Retic
Eastern Indigo
Boelen's Python
Yellow tail cribo

and less likely:
some species of rattlesnake.

Re: Future snakes!

Thinking about an L. Pyromelana (AZ Moutain King) next. Maybe some species of Ringneck or Lyres as well.

Definitely next in line for me as far as hots is a C. Cerberus (AZ Black Rattlesnake).

Good choice! Those rattlers are stunners
Kings are amazing snakes as well, i really like Cali kings but rarely see them here.

Thanks VH! Yeah I'm really big on Crotalus species, they are my favorite and that's lucky for me since I can only keep non protective native venomous legally until the laws change here in AZ (which rumor is that they might to allow non native venomous species).

I'm also really big on Colubrids and always will be. We found one L. Pyromelana this year and I fell in love with em. I've got an L.G. Californiae (Cali King), was actually my first snake, but interacting with him isn't always fun due to his feeding response.

I can imagine you are, i'm considering adding a C. Ruber to my collection because Crotalus are such beautiful snakes!
I dind't know you can only keep native venomous species (non protected) in AZ, but then again states have their on Laws and regulations (and i tend to forget that sometimes since The Netherlands doesn't work with state regulations etc.)
Hope for you that that will change, but until then; there are quite a bunch of nice snakes there!

as for the king, it may be a feeding respone but it keeps you on edge! Always convenient when keeping hots, but i can imagine it can be annoying at times

Ah, the giants! Do you also plan to keep african rock pythons?

That'll be one of the first non-natives I keep. If the laws change. I love Ruber's, sucks that were not supposed to keep them even though they are only a few hundred miles away in the next state over.

Hope the restriction will be disposed of soon!
That bureaucratic nonsense has to stop

Re: Future snakes!

I am aiming for a Brazilian rainbow boa, but if I were to go for a giant, it would be an albino reticulated python. I don't think I'll risk hots unless I'm providing antivenom for somebody though.

I agree, I mean I can understand them and appreciate them when ignorant people are letting Naja's loose in Florida but it still sucks to be restricted.
