Re: Worlds coolest Reptiles!

Give it 10 years or so... I'm sure that eventually someone will keep them alive and actually breed them, and that one clutch will turn into two, we'll learn better ways to keep them alive, the second clutch will turn into another one, etc, etc.. Hopefully that'll happen because Dragon snakes are super cool and it would be really awesome to own one at some point!

Re: Worlds coolest Reptiles!

Agreed ^^

There really is very little known on the care required, and it would be nice to figure it out but not at the expense of those lost in the process. Observation in the natural habitat would be the best practice, and then to apply this to a few specimens in captivity to see how they adapt under a controlled enviroment designed to mimic their natural one.

Anyone want to take a trip to Thailand???

Let's go! Lol... You're paying

even in the wild, they're hardly seen, though. I have read that they live in higher elevations, and have survived in captivity on a strict diet on Pure White Tree Frogs. So there's a start

I wouldn't count on it. Boelen's pythons have been in captivity for 20 yrs or so, but we still haven't unlocked the secret for breeding with them. The hobby is so focused on the next big money-making mutation for BPs, corns, or geckos or whatever...that's why all this other stuff gets shoved aside. Not enough interest.

Well I would willing to pay a lot more for a normal Boelens than I would for the next thing in royals. This is one snake I would love to see grow in popularity.
