Wow I just read all of this and most of you are over reacting to each others comments big time!!!
Honestly unless you would trade a house for this snake just rehome it to someone who you think will take good care of it. Go to school and get another after. How hard is this to figure out? Seriously, I love my snakes but I would turff them in a heartbeat if the rest of my life depended on it.
To the Op....you already know what you must do, stop looking to have your mind changed and do it. You will not spend eternity rotting in hell for giving your snake a new home. If your giving it away you should have little trouble finding it a home. Now get your life on track and your future the direction it needs.

I guess I'm just a rule breaker and wouldn't care if the rule said I couldn't have a snake. I already know some here think suggestions similar to mine are going to be considered a bad influence or just reckless but it's really not a big issue. A dog or a cat is a different story but snakes are easy to hide. Whatever... College sucks... Graduated and now no jobs in my field... Student loan debt exceeds credit card debt now and everyone lied to me about how it works.. Screw the system. I'm bitter and I know it. One of my admitted faults. Oh well. In the end it's gonna fall down to what kind of person the OP is... And what goals in life the OP has.

And that kind of attitude is what puts our hobby in jeopardy with law makers.

Only if you do it wrong. Rules were implemented because people's snakes got out one too many times, thus flustering the herds of snake-fearing cowards
It's like those people abusing allergy meds..we all suffer because someone screwed up.
A better society would just punish the individuals not everyone. Oh well forget it

To the "lawmakers can suck it" comment, all I have to say is you clearly have a problem with "the man" or the "system" and you also clearly don't know how to play the "system" or "the man" to your advantage. When you grow up, maybe you will.

Seriously, though.. Laws have been improving our favor because the ridiculous restrictions are pissing people off. For the longest time renter's or home owners insurance wouldn't allow for snakes but they do now...
