Re: First time snake owner, looking for help!
Ya i sure hope so! im in live with her and snakes!
When i first got her she had, to small of a tank, 1 hide that was 3 times to small she couldnt fit her whole bodie init, 1 small water dish thats like TEENY! and was in a filthy tank. now she has a bigger tank, 2 large hides, a large water dish and a 24/7 clean home, always fresh water and a ownder who will be paying attention to her.
One more question for right now, does perfume or air spray, sented candles ECT. bother snakes?

I would assume so. I would avoid them just in case around the snake, usually perfumes are rather abrasive (I know they bother the crap out of me, i cant even really wear cologne or anything or my sinuses burn)
do you have a picture of the updated enclosure/a happy bella?

Re: First time snake owner, looking for help!
It's a good habit to have to wash your hands before and after you handle Bella to be safe at least. I don't handle my snakes if I have lotion on my hands or anything like that.
Good luck with feeding tomorrow!!
(I'll gladly post pics for you too, you know that )

Re: First time snake owner, looking for help!
Shes beautiful. Keep her warm side 75-80 degrees. I find that the heating pads break quickly. Get a clamp lamp (if you buy one from a farm feed store they are cheaper) and get a heating bulb from the pet store. Get a red or blue bulb so it doesnt bother her at night. And use natural light during the day (keep your bulb on for heat). As for baths. Dont give your snake a bath unless shes having shedding problems. If you give her too many baths it will dry out the natural oils in her skin. Get a water dish big enough for her to submerge in, she will soak when she needs too. Aspen bedding is fine. Newspaper is good, peat moss is better looking. I have had my corn for 5 years and shes 5 feet long. For the size tank shown you should only need a 75 maybe 100 watt bulb. It looks like a good size tank for now.

this is totally wrong, corns need a hot end temp of 86f - 75f would be ok for the cool end but if the hot end was only 75f then the snake could have issues digesting food and become seriously ill.
