Re: Live Monitor Left in Dumpster
I think I actually saw a headline about this, and steered clear because I figured it'd piss me off. I'm very happy to see that there's more to the story, and that this little guy is getting what he needs. Well done, and many kudos to you!!

Re: Live Monitor Left in Dumpster
This is awesome. Thank you for taking him in. He couldn't be in better hands.
It's sick to think that someone would just throw out a live animal like trash...

Re: Live Monitor Left in Dumpster
Thanks Little Wise Owl! I don't understand how anyone could throw out a live animal...

He's pretty big, about 18 inches total length. I'm not sure how quickly monitors grow when they aren't well-supported, but I know he's at least a year old...

Re: Live Monitor Left in Dumpster
Update!
So he's developed QUITE the appetite! He's become much more agile and I've started leading him around the enclosure with food. We're starting off slow, but he's gradually becoming more coordinated and quick with his strikes! Exciting to see!
Big 'ol dopey grin!
His skin is becoming lighter by the day
Finally a tongue shot! He has a longer tongue and a deeper fork than the ladies!
Still skinny, but gaining muscle definition!
The stuck shed on his tail that seemed to be restricting circulation has come loose. There's still some more to go.
