Yup. Checked both couches literally inside / out. Put all pillows and blankets in a plastic bag and in the crawl space. Took 95% of everything off the floor from the floor where he....got bored of watching TV with the wife.

I'm going to change his name to Houdini...!

Re Cold Crawl space - thanks boys....I will empty that out tonight.

(Keep the ideas comin')

Shelf height question:

If Faro is 25 inches long including his thin little tail stub....how high can he climb / reach?

Re: Lost Snake Nighmare.....

Don't think like that :P Just search everything. Get on your belly infront of his cage and think about where you would go if you were a snake and looking for some place to hide hahah sounds silly but you might see something at his level you didn't see before. And concentrate closest to where he escaped for now since they usually don't go very far before finding a nice hideout.

Did you check inside dressers/ desks/ the underside of the bed frame? How do you heat your house? I have those old panel heaters if you have them you may want to check in there too.

Ready to rip the bedroom to pieces after the number times I have been in and under everything. But have not pull the mattress right off the frame yet.

The upstairs (were he vanished) has a bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen. Nothing left on the floor in the L/R (TV mounted into wall), hall closet has nothing but a big dish of water and 3hides, nothing to hide under in the washroom....but....there is that on heating vent with a wooden routered cover!!

He would fit easy in that! It angles down, and its covered now....but I do look often.

Did you checked all the drawers? When I was young and my king snake escaped I would always find him in drawers. Some of them I thought were imposable for him to reach. Good luck!

Re: Lost Snake Nighmare.....

My friend found his corn 6 months later in a top kitchen cupboard... It was a 3ft corn so they're pretty crafty with climbing etc.

Re: Lost Snake Nighmare.....

Drawers: the dressers close with less than 1/8 inch gap and there are no openings at the rear so that's impossible since he's 1 & 1/4 inches at his belly.

My lower lever was like rat-a-palazzo last night.....nothing.

I think I tonight I am going to try kink led tin foil all along the walls and turn the motion sensors on. If he moves over the foil that should trip a sensor and wake us up.

Check the drawers anyways. All of them, and all your cabinets.

Re: Lost Snake Nighmare.....

Put a heat pad on the floor in the room he was in last. Use thermostat. You can also try putting plastic bags all over your house and just sitting very still and listening, worked great for me.

Remove the drawers completely and look inside the dresser.

Yeah...I came home early today for this.

I dismantled the bedroom....nothing! (Seriously)

I built the bedroom furniture a long time ago and went a little over board. Each drawer fits into (basically) a wooden slot and the closed clearance at the front is actually closer to 1/16 inch or less. When closed its like a safe.

Regardless, I pulled it all apart. (Found an Apple TV remote)

Then went back to all the usual spots. (In, around, under, etc)

Felt like I was in a scene from Aliens while I was on a chair looking into a dark heat register looking down at all the different vent branches. (Head lamp and mirror in hand). I have not found any other vent "foot prints in the dust" but I'm starting to really belive he is in there.

Today is normal feeding day so hopefully Rat-a-palluza lures him out soon.

this is a ball python right? at just over 2 ft in length. are you talking about rat pups or mice pups? just curious because around that size my bp was eating adult mice. which would make sense switching him to a small rat if thats what your talking about. he will grow out of that fast too lol.. mine now eats medium/large rats.. hes at 2ft 9 inches.. ours was only on adult mice for about a month then we learned we should switch to rats so we did.
