if you read his post...
it was his FATHER who left the rat in the tank,the op was unaware of this until he woke up,and saw a dead rat and wounded snake

Could a rat really make a cut that long? I would have thought that there might have been a lot of smaller wounds from a rat rather than 1 long one

no that's not the wound that the rat have made ., the wound becomes that big after he eat ., it just reopened boss that's why he got that big wound .,

Op- You really need to get that snake on paper towels or news paper. Check your humidity,heat and then leave the snake alone until it heals up. Once you start offering food again i would offer much smaller prey for a while.
