I dont understand how it could only be 20% unless you are using one of those petsmart gauges, I live in tucson and inside my house is above 40% humidity without help from a humidifier in the middle of summer.

Heaters generally dehydrate the air quite severely.

A heater in the house plus a light plus a screen top of a 20L can easily result in that low humidity.

I never said anything about making the humidity "high," but 20% is pretty severely low and a level not present in most areas of the US. Raising it to even 40% would be better than 20%.

ah! We never use a heater here so i forgot how dry the air can get
