Re: My new pastel girl
see this is why i dont like posting on here. i do because i know when i have a concern you folks are the best folks to ask and i take what you all say with my own knowledge iv read from google and youtube, but i hold more credit to you folks.
when i got ted (who isnt even mine but my ex bf's) i knew nothing and i was given bad information on care you fols all turned that around and every piece of advice i was given for his mites bad shed feeding housing everything i followed to a t. i waited for 4 mths until i got my bee so i had 4 mths of everything with ted perfect. than i got my bee and right off the bat i had everything you folks had taught me in place before he come plastic tub 2 hides heat pads thermostate, but he was my first baby and my dream snake so of course i worried, but setup and incubation not handling everything i followed to a t from what i learned from ted. and now 2 mths later i have my pastel female and again it took 2 mths so i could have all her stuff in place for housing and setup ready and properly reading humidity and temps before she even come and she wouldnt of been handled so soon except for the poop.
even my leopard geckos when i first posted on them i found out alot of thigns i was told i could do i really couldnt and was told alot of things to change and i changed every single thing within a couple days and now i know how to properly care for leopard geckos and feel confident on getting and housing more if i choose to do so.
i just think im done posting,
i would understand if i never listened to advice i was given but kept posting abotu same issues or if i was never appreciative of the information i was given or rude and nasty when i'v found out i was doing something wrong, but i was always very thankful and appreciative. i have even gone as far as posted pictures to show that i followed advice on setups and such that iw as given to prove that i listened and learned and didnt just sweep all the advice i get under the table. i have even gone as far as framing the caresheet and hanging it by where i have my snakes so i only need to look up and see temps humidty and anything i might need to see for referance immediatly rather than having to go on computer and possibly forgetting about it.
thank you everyone for your fantastic advice, but this is my last posts.

Re: My new pastel girl
To bad that there are a very little few here that have to be so high and mighty . This same person was critical of my caring for a young baby and knew nothing of the facts ,but insisted I was wrong. After working with a professional it turned out I had done everything right. Just some feel they have all the answers and are perfect I suppose. The few posts I have read of yours all seemed valid to me and I am sure to many others as well. But in truth there are some here who are taking the joy of communicating with others and sharing experiences away . Wish we could all be as perfect as some.

Sherri, this is a great community and I hope you stay. You just have to know who to ignore, who to laugh off and who to listen to.

Re: My new pastel girl
You obviously don't read enough of my posts. You probably ignore them thinking that they are worthless or something.
By the way, I don't hide behind my computer. Goto the "lets talk I'm bored" thread. Two brand new pics of me out and about in my local community.
P.S. The world would be a sad place without me in it so I'll pass on your suggestion.

Maybe you should take your own advice and turn in your own membership, because I see you doing exactly the same thing your accusing Aaron of doing.....
Sorry, but people seriously need to get some thicker skin, and if that offends anyone, well, I'm not going to apologize for saying it..

Re: My new pastel girl
I think it goes both ways, some people may need thicker skin, but others need to learn how to speak respectfully as well, however, we have had this exact discussion so many times on this forum.......... well lets just say this particular horse has been dead for a while and is starting to smell, so lets stop kicking it!!!

Re: My new pastel girl
I talked to Sherriwat privately, and she is very certain she doesn't want to post on here any more. She hasn't asked me to say any of this, this is just my own thoughts.
I don't think Aaron meant his words in any malicious way, but I can tell you that they very much seemed malicious to me, and to Sherriwat they probably seemed downright spiteful. Aaron gives fantastic advice and I respect his advise and opinions, however sometimes (and this applies to everyone, not just Aaron) the words become skewed due to the barrier of the computer screen and the lack of the inflection that was actually intended.
No need to exchange harsh words, or beat a dead horse, so to speak. But I think this is another case of misunderstood words. I talked with Sherriwat and while I dont want to mess up her words, the jist of what I understood was that she feels like she has been 'attacked' (for lack of a better word) due to a few circumstances with different snakes. From what I've seen / heard, she has accepted the advice given to her on all occasions, and her snakes became better before it, as did her keeping skills.
Things were just misunderstood, I believe. Just take it with a grain of salt, and remind yourselves that words can be weapons too, intentionally or accidentally.

Re: My new pastel girl
Kids play nice now!!
She's a lovely girl Sherriwat! Love pastels! Snakes can be very additcting. As long as they get the care and respect they deserve there is nothing wrong. There is also nothing wrong with asking lots of questions. Sure some of the questions makes people look like a newbie, but remeber everyone once was...

Exactly. ![Smilie](http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif) Sherriwat has said (on the forum too, not just in private) that she asks so many questions cause she's a worry wort. Well it just means she cares. I'm a worry wort too, I just don't show it as much on here.
I'm still a newbie, a lot of people still are. We look to the 'elders', so to speak, for help because they know more and have proven their skills, thus they have earned respect and in some cases idolism. When it seems like we are doing well, and one of the 'elders' comes along and gives a bit of criticism among a crowd of advice or sometimes compliments, its sudden and strikes deep.
There should never be something wrong with asking an honest question. If you're brave enough to ask it, you care enough to fix it, and if you don't bother to fix it then you don't care enough.
It's plain enough that Sherri loves her snakes and would never do them intentional harm. Like I said before, I believe all of this was just a misunderstanding. Take it as a learning experience, whether you were involved or not.

Re: My new pastel girl
No I don't believe it was a misunderstanding . I have been the target of his attacks as well as many others on here and have kept my mouth shut until now . This is the mentality that allows crap like this to continue . The need to try to humiliate someone who is doing a great job at learning and caring for her animals should be dealt with by the admins . Time and again I see this militant attitude towards good people . Makes me wonder why anyone would want to ask for advice . Bottom line is I you cannot offer anything helpful then keep it to yourself . Education goes a lot further than humiliation . I am pretty much with the OP on this one . I can't find much useful advice here anymore with out being criticized needlessly so time to carry on . To all the good people here which most of you are . Thanks for the help and advice and answers to my questions . Hopefully one day the ones who have to belittle someone will be weeded out and this page can be dedicated to education and sharing of pics and stories . Good luck .

Re: My new pastel girl
When did so many people become whiners?
Take the advice ignore the rest if you don't like it. Aaron has a lot of good advice mixed in with his silly ways. Put on your big girl panties and do what is best for your pets.
