Welcome, and gratz on your new pal.
Like everyone is saying I would get the pal of yours on rats asap, reason 1 cheaper 2 less feeding amounts 3 from my understanding better for your snake (food wise) closer to natural food.
Thanks for the heads up on switching to rats. I didnt know if the rat was going to be too big my cbc is only about 18 inches but next feed i will get a bigger one but im definitely going to try to keep him on frozen/ thawed rats unless he stop eating them. ( i hate live rats they give me the he-be-ge-bees...lol)
Welcome You can get young rats about the size of a mouse, that is probably about the size you want to have him on now. You don't want to switch him to something begger necessarily yet, just get him used to the smell and taste of rats before he gets too used to mice is all. About 3 week old rats should be perfect, someone chime in and tell the correct term for these please... pups?
Okay I double checked rodentpro, they are called pups on there for 14-18 day olds which is the ones you would want if he is as big around as a mouse roughly. My Boas are a tad smaller being baby Nics so I am a size behind you and wasn't sure the name for the next size lol.
