Hi. I'm new to the forum and I wanted to know when these Anery traits begin to really express. I adopted a BRB from someone that wasn't really caring for it anymore and during the past year it has lost ALOT of coloration. It now has no red and hardly any orange (Very minimal scales). It looks more brown compared to this one and white, very similar looking. It's approx 3-4 years old and I plan on maybe breeding it to see if it really is an anery or just a weird colored BRB.

I read somewhere that it can produce another morph if bred with a hypo. Which would that be? I cannot find any pics of any.

Could you post a picture? Sound like you might have a Colombian rainbow boa.

The Anery color morph in Brazilian Rainbow Boas is immediately apparent. Although it's uncommon, I have seen a couple instances where BRBs have a color change later in life. It's unlikely that your snake is Anery, but please share some pictures of your BRB before and after when you get a chance. Take it easy.

Here's the only picture I have on my phone. And I apologize that it's not a great one. I need to take some more and I'll post some when I get a chance.

I know it's a BRB for sure. I know what a Colombian Rainbow is. Look at the pattern itself. I have pretty good experience with more common snakes except morphs. It's just puzzling that it lost it's color.

Sadly, no. I didn't really pay much attention to it at first. It didn't happen dramatically until the last 2-3 sheds. Before that, it just looked like any typical BRB.

I'll post some better pics this week. When I get out of work and teaching kids soccer it's usually dark out by the time I get home.

Cripton, there are two different types of color loss with which I am familiar. Both tend to hit adult animals. Neither, however, produces an anery: just normal adults that, through genetics or illness, have lost their color. I too would be interested to see any before and after pictures.
