Re: Kimo, rockin' the shed socks

He'll get between 4-5' long, there is a very high likelihood he could reach 3 feet by the end of the year.

Goodness he has a VERY cute face. Love his expression too. Seems happy and curious. If they didn't get so big I would probably have one myself.

Also you are rockin that viv you showed. No wonder he is so happy.

Haha, wait until I post more videos of him and his unstoppable curiosity!

I've never fallen for a pet like I have for him, he's a great lizard, and will only get better. Definitely requires some time and space though!

I really want one too but I think I'll wait until my dog has passed away, he's 10.5 and got lots of tumors so we're just providing quality of life right now.

Can you potty train them or have you tried? That would be cool because then he could just roam the house and only stay overnight or when I'm gone in his habitat. I was thinking of having it low on the ground so he can walk in and out whenever he wants and use the potty that way too.

Actually yes you can, Kimo is "trained" to go in the tub. I pull him out of his enclosure, if he hasn't poo'd yet I put him straight in the tub with warm water and he doesn't get to come out til he's done his business. Tegu poop smells like something the devil himself created after eating chinese food for a week and putting in the microwave... much easier to deal with in the tub.
He seems to be catching on fast, these days he squeezes one out nearly as soon as he hit the water.

I always handle him for a while, then let him roam around. He usually just meanders for a little bit, and crawls back into his enclosure.

His house is at ground level, he can climb in and out easily, and I let him do as he pleases. He's big enough now that there's not much I have to block off to keep him out of. He really is a fun lizard to have around, can't wait until he seeks attention rather than just tolerating it.
