Re: any suggestions??

Bull and pine snakes are awesome. I have a little baby bull snake and he's full of spunk. He's never actually struck but when I open his cage he hisses like there's no tomorrow. It's the loudest, raspiest snake hiss. Bulls and pines also get around 7 feet long and fairly thick-bodied, so they are very impressive. They are intelligent and curious and will watch you. Also coachwhips, if you can find one, are an amazing snake. They are very intelligent for snakes and I've heard of someone who trained his to follow him around an obstacle course for food rewards. Coachwhips are the fastest snake in North America and can get 7 or so feet long. They are very alert and curious and are one of the few snake species that will try to stare you down. They are very defensive of their cages but many can be handled once out. I just bought my fiance a yearling coachwhip. I was not much into them and thought them kinda boring, but when I was bringing this little guy home he watched every single thing I did, from adjusting temperature in the car to fiddling with the radio, to simply having my hands on the wheel. Nothing got past him. I was impressed, and a bit intimidated. Also when I go in the room, he will come right up to the front of the cage and watch everything I do until I leave. I am really fascinated by him. One of the coolest colubrids I've ever had the pleasure of having in my house.

Re: any suggestions??

i have kings and i love them. i also have a RTB (its little right now) but bigger isn't necessarily better. kings and garters are usually cheaper (even for the cool morphs) than boas and pythons (compare a pudget sound garter to a sunglow RTB or a piebald BP) Kings and garters are also more active (at least my kings are more active than my boa) and therefore more entertaining.
