Re: New D'Albert's White-lipped Python Pair
Update on the white-lippeds. I tried separating them and put each in its own 20-gallon tank with hide and vines and water bowl, but they kept going over to the sides close to each other and kept trying to reach each other through the glass like long-lost lovers...lol. I felt bad for them so I put them back together and they immediately curled up together with their heads resting on each others' coils. I guess I will keep them together for now. They are both small enough to fit comfortably in a 20-long together, so until they outgrow that they can stay together. Anyone else ever have an experience with snakes looking for each other like that? I didn't know they were capable of such displays of affection....

Simply put it's because they aren't. Where were their hot spots? Maybe that is the reason they both went to the same side? You never stated you left them alone for longer than what seems a mere few hours at most. Again they only coil around one another because it's the prime spot to be.

Re: New D'Albert's White-lipped Python Pair
Ah, well maybe that is it then. The temps in the cage are around 82-85 on the cool end and 90-92 on the hot end, measured with a digital temp gun. They seem to alternate between ends depending on the time of day. I will separate them when they grow out of the tank they are currently in, or if I see any signs of aggression.

I don't have any snakes for sale right now....might have some house snake hatchlings in a few months if any of the massive amounts of copulation going on in that cage is successful.....lol...it's like snake orgy in there...

Willow, don't worry at all about offending these guys! They're tough, they can take it!

Kyle, you'd better not be calling me old! I've decided I won't be "old" until the day I die!

Re: New D'Albert's White-lipped Python Pair
LOL. That's the spirit! I'm 25, but I figure with the number of baby snakes I have, I'll be 60 or older before they all go! I will never get "old" either, Chu- live young 'til the day I die! I imagine I'll be some wrinkled 80-something driving around in a Corvette with snakes hanging off my shoulders..lol

Yeah, but kitties are great too. I have three Bengals and I love them. They are my kids. Bengals are awesome cats but they get into everything!
