Re: Odd disapearance

kendra you can't put the rat in a bag that would defeat the purpose lol. you have to scent the baseboards because snakes (from what i understand) at night will travel along the corners and the hope is that they will pick up the trail of the rat and follow it to a paper bag where you put the rat and stay in there because it is like a burrow and it would be better if you put a heat pad under the bag and water inside.

I would do that but, theres kind of a problem with that. My mom won't let me get a dead rat or mouse and leave it out. But my little brother has pet mice and I figure if he's still in the house he's most likely to show up in there if he gets hungry.

And I checked with everyone in my house and they say they haven't touched. I really think he was let out though...His tank was completly undisturbed when I found him to be missing. Like I said, his tank is well secured so I don't think he got out by himself...

Well i bet your brother looses all of his mice at once depending on how big the snake is. most snakes are gorge eaters and will eat as much as they can whenever they can based on instinct because in the wild there is no telling when you will get your next meal. I dont think snakes will eat themselves to death but in the wild if they find a mouse den then they kill all the mice in it and then eat them one by one after they kill them all and then they lay in the burrow until they have digested and are ready to hunt again.
