her previous owner was feeding her with one large rat every 3 weeks. when i got her, i bought 5 frozen large rats for her and i tried to give her one. she didn't want to eat it (i wrote about this problem on this forum). then i tried to give her another rat a week later but she didn't want it again. than i got 7 gerbils from a friend of mine and offered one to my boa. she ate that one but a gerbil is a lot smaller than a rat so i gave her another one. she ate both of them without a problem. from then on i'm feeding her two adoult gerbils every 3 weeks. i'm trying to find somebody who has medium size rats but there is not a lot of rat breeders in my country...

i have 2 large red tails that i rescued...one is really thin still..ive only had 'em a month, and so far she has had 7 mice, 3 large rats, 2 medium rats...(oink) But she was skin and bones, so we are working our way back
my other is pretty decent except for large wound on his snout from rubbing? on the rough chicken wire enclosure they were in...
I'd send pics, but Im having issues the larger one is at [URL="www.geocities.com/amercnwmn/ReptileRescue.html"]

Strange Question
Ok weird question, Is it considered a conflict of interest to have a rat as a pet along with my 6 snakes??? HAHA:med2teeth

your best bet is to pick up a inclosure from repti plastic or bild your owen 4x2x2 works best less stress for the boa as well they feel more at home when they dont see everything from all sides and easer to keep the rire temps as well
