This thread was not intended or posted to have everyone say, 'well what about this and what about that' only to point out the rule. Unfortunatly (Like always) the Mods have NO control over how the rules in the signature box read or the ability to set it up for a maximum number of Characters.. (not trying to sound 'harsh' or be a dink)

I understand everyone's concern, and I understand that everyone likes to list all their animals.. Just all too often we have people list their 9 animals vertically in their signature and it gets annoying..

Anyone Remember when Jordan had all 47 of his animals listed that way in his signature?? I thought people were going to hang the kid...

Is it possible to put a picture in your signature? And if so, would it count as only one line?

Hey here's a thought, lets make signatures be limited to a size directly proportional to their average post length. For example, when someone has 10 000 posts and they're all "I agree, nice pic, conrats, bite me," etc... I know I'm being ana!, but I think people should have more to say in conversation than in their signature.

Seriously though, I do appreciate the fact that signatures on this forum are not the banners you see elsewhere, and that avatars aren't the size of a 3x6 photo.

Isn't that 5 lines?

Would only be 4 I guess if the Gilligan didn't wrap but it does.

LOL Do you seriously think I'd be sitting here enforcing the rules while having a 5 line signature?

On teeny tiny monitors, my signature could be 5 lines? On my monitor, it's 4. On teeny tiny monitors many, many members have signatures that are over the limits. I go by my monitor.

Its 4 on my monitor, with space for another word or two to spare. In the post you made, nita, its 3 words over the next line. I have a fairly average/small monitor, too.

Simply put a word counter in the signature area (via HTML code) to count the number of letters that are alouded to be (say 200 letters for ex.)

We can't make any changes like that right now...

I think it also makes a difference what latout you are using. I use sky blue I think and lots of the sigs are slightly over four lines. I may be wrong but I think it does change it a bit. My monitor is 17 inch(not huge but not tiny) and Heathers is still 5 lines.
Just a thought.

There IS a letter counter for signatures, wether they can put it or not.

Heather's signature on my screen is 4 lines and im using skyblue and a 17 inch monitor. It all depends on your screen resolution..
