I would say probably a bad idea. You may never get him back on rats once he gets that mouse taste in him.

I agree with emroul, and you would be surprised, at how well they will metabolize them. Mine gets 2 medium rats per week, he looks the fattest right before he sheds, which is also when he poops, and he is hardly obese. Still looks slender on both ends to me in fact. Its the middle of him thats gaining all the girth. I say give it a shot, if you feel like he is getting too fat you can always cut back. Then again, even a little too fat might not be too bad if he decides to go off feed for 5 months or something. How long have you had your snake jglass? I have only had omega for a few short months, so I have no idea if he will be the fasting type or not yet. If you dont want to do 2 of the same size, you could always pick up some smaller rats, too.
