Does anyone keep kankaki (<--spelling mistake?)bull snakes? Ken Taylor kept them but I haven't seen them anywhere else.

I love pits! We have gopher rescues where I work, they're fun to work with.

Steve, I have not heard of anyone working with locality bulls in Canada, let alone Kankakee locale. Might be nice if someone did. Speaking of which, pretty much any northern locale bull is pretty dark. Even the Montana bulls and Iowa bulls are fairly dark. Dark up until you hit the Canadian border. Then they get red. Go figure! lol

Here's my one and only Pit.

I think Vanan said he's a southern pine. Nice snakes but I have a hell of a time getting a picture of this guy, damn colubrids move too much! lol!

lol! Nice snake Mike! that's one heck of a controversial snake! Seems like the flash washed out his colours a bit in the first pic, no?

Yeah the flash washed him right out but when I tried it without the flash I got a blur of snakey streaks. lol!

He's chocolate milk coloured with a little pink toward the belly, that's the best way I can describe his background colour, with brown markings that kind of go orange towards the end of the tail.

There are more "Pit-Heads" out there than you may realize, lol!

Don't know if I've ever posted these pics here, but here's one of a female "hypomelanistic, aberrant-patterned" Sonoran Gopher Snake which came from my first-ever clutch of Sonoran eggs back in '96/'97, if memory serves...

The animal is pictured with a normal sibling.

Cheers!
