Understatement of the frikkin' century! Scorpions by far rule my invertebrate passion. That being said, it occurs to me that I forgot to mention my 'pede. Scolopendra sp.

Cheers,
Dave

Why are 'pedes now considered illegal?
I never heard of such a silly thing.... maybe some office guy found out how much they can eat... and decided they were a threat to national security...numbnutts...

Technically, every herbivor arthropod is considered under control by agriculture Canada... they will pretty much let pass most of the carnivor ones, like praying mantids for instance... that is also why scorps, Ts, centipedes are not regulated... they could not care less about those, as long as they are not controlled by CITES, then you all know the special procedures...

One of the reason for that, I was told by an agent, is that they do not want to bother going over everything to determine what is tolerated and what is not... they rather say they are all illegal, like that most of the people will not bother... that does not mean you cannot get import permits for some of them... there are animals they are more flexible with... as long as you apply for the 15$ import permit specifying the exact species and the quantities imported... this is only for appliction, it can get refused and still paid the money for the application... and I am not sure if this permit allows you to sell them or only keep them at home...

I believe they are very flexible with millipedes, as you pointed out, we hardly see an agricultural threat in those particular animals... they will regard as a problem, animals that have great adaptation skills and are very prolific in reproduction... like roaches for exemple...

Well, millipedes are still openly for sale in petshops as you all know... so enjoy them...

Yve, are you sure that they're AGBs?

Wouldn't they be the "chocolate brown" millipedes because they don't have the orangeish on each segment? (I said the same thing about Dave's millis which looks the same as yours).

Emily, the bum shot was a fluke!lol....you know how it is with these guys...always on the move.....every shot is an action shot even though its ultra slow!lol...
FrankQC, thats what they were sold to me as but I don't really know much about them other than care...I have heard that you should always buy them in pairs if you want to breed them because the different types may look very similar, so maybe it is possible these are not what they seem to be! the crease between segments is a bit lighter and they do look like the pictures I've seen of agb....

Hey Rob!
Did you see the video on breeding boas by the Boaphile? I saw it a couple days ago.. pretty cool stuff.

And... SLIMY.....ewwwwww.... real grotesque....gotta have a strong stomach to be a boa breeder, man. The amount of fluid and gushy stuff and big strings of mucous and stuff with veins....eeessshhhh *gag*. We were all squirming and going, YUCK, especially when they described the SMELL!

*ahem* So, yep, have fun getting babies! hahahahaha
