I do feed more then every 2 weeks. For the first week of having it here it didn't want to eat and I offered every other day. Now that s/he is eating for me I am offering every few days. Believe me, I'm not trying to starve my baby

Oh I know. I have no doubts that you'll be successful with this little guy (Invictus was right, KILLER tail!). Its just that a few of us have seen quite a few (hundreds) of baby boas pass through our hands and/or friends hands, so we know a skinny boa when we see one. We were just giving you the heads up. That snake is in no way unhealthy. I have no doubts that when it settles down in your care, it will grow like a weed and eat you out of house and home!

Just be aware that for its long-term health, it will need to be fatter and a little more hydrated. Sometimes a water dish is not enough to hydrate these little guys. I always feed them F/T that was thawed in hot water and not dried off. Takes the edge off of any husbandry mistakes I may have made with regards to humidity and their hydration.

Best of luck. It is a NICE looking snake, that's for sure.

Thanks Jeff. I just finished uploading a few new pictures of Butter after his/her feeding this morning. It's been 4 days since I fed him/her last. Those first pictures were before I fed him/her that day. So here's the new pictures from today (please excuse the poor quality of some of them...my camera is giving me fits):

Right after eating

Doing his/her favorite thing after eating...hanging out on/in the water bowl:
this one was taken from outside the glass so it looks bad

this one was also taken from outside the glass

this one was taken from above

Awesome! Water dish looks bigger than I would use for a baby boa, but it looks like a great snake. There's a reason why boas are so popular, and surely you now know why!

Best of luck!

I thought so too about the water dish but I can't seem to find any of my smaller one's. What size would you suggest and I'll go out today and get her/him a new one

It's funny that you say boas are so popular. The rescue (Colorado Reptile Rescue) has several in foster homes and such and no one has shown any interest in adopting them at all. They also have a bunch of burms as well. They said finding decent homes for the boas and the burms is sooo hard especially when no one is showing any interest in them

Thanks SR. I love showing her/him off

Is there any way (without probing) to find out if Butter is a male or a female? Same with my bigger one, Peanut. I was told that Peanut is a male but they weren't totally certain. On a side note, I don't handle Peanut as he's already tagged me and it hurt like a beeeoootch and thus I'm a bit nervous even thinking about trying to handle him. We sort of have this "understanding" going on at the moment...I don't bother him and he doesn't bother me when I'm cleaning the poop up or changing the water in his tub LOL.

lol, beautiful little snake, Red tails are definitly on my list of "what to get next" , get a snake hook for that mean one and show him who's boss! Again, lucky you, beautiful snake.

Does that rescue have a website and do they ship? Once we get everything settled once we move we will be looking into more reptiles and I would love to help one have a good home!

I didn't think I was either until Peanut just appeared in my life and then the babies were born and I was given one. I'm used to keeping little snakes so this is a "learn as you go" situation LOL
