SO-SO eh Brandon well then as far as Retics go she is great mine is an insane maniac lunatic...really damn cool. I do reptile shows for a living and would recommend against a retic doing such an avenue such as this halloween party. In my experience they are to easily ticked off, that is why my retic has retired from "show biz" now a burm or a boa then go for it. But a tic...well yours may be more acclimated to humans then mine...you have to make the final call...but from my "professional" (i luv saying that) stand point...bad idea. If you do take them let us know how it went asap

IF you insist on doing this, at least have one or two other experienced people with you that can help handle the over stressed snakes!! I too have a 16' 100+lb retic, and when he is completely calm he is a handful (moves alot, like most retics). That is all I can tell you, you are going to do what ever you have already decided to do.

I'm not big on taking snakes out in public UNLESS its for a knowledgable reason.......

So basically the only way I'll approve of it is if you tlak facts not the "cool" stuff........also why dont you print up some fact sheets and hand them out?? I think that would be awesome(maybe with a ssnakess.com link??) haha

Oh and also as long as you have protection from the public like you say

Sunrunner,.. I meant SO-SO Because she can be mean as hell when taken her out of the enclosure. But then she seem to calm down when she is out. But you are right she is great But far from great to do a show with.

cpt_retic,you talk like the same person named _SOPRANO_, you made quick the disturbance on another forum. You even said you keep that 7' retic and that 5' boa in the SAME CAGE and don't see a problem with that!

Also you were already "lectured" on this whole idea about bash for halloween on the other forum.....why would you even consider bringing ANY of your snakes out to a halloween thing? It is cold and as someone mentioned it would probably instill more fear into the people then anything.

Fact sheets are worth nothing at this type of outing. It was already mentioned that people will be partying or continuing to walk through the thing than stand around and read something on snakes. To them its just a show.

Shouldn't you know how to spell or pronounce the locale of your snake before you go and buy a 16 footer? Do you even KNOW what a large sulawesi can do? Did you research on the fact they tend to still be really mean and not have a good temperment. I can't wait to see that snake up for sale again.

I have been starting to think that my self, He will be in for a hell of a ride if he thinks keeping a 16' 100lb retic is going to be easy to do much with. My 15.5' sulawsie is far from easy to even move.

cpt_retic, When you get this 16' 100lb sulawsie i would really like to see the pic's. Because some of the things you have said not just in this post but others sounds to me that you are really not ready for a sulawsie yet or any retic as far as that goes.

I'm getting her From D&D Exotics in Ont. In case you did'nt read it earlier I'm not going to take her.

The dude I'm getting her off of said she was one of Bob Clarks line of SULAWESI, but I know he does not breed those. So I;m thinking she is not a sula or it's not from Bob.

Aaron S , tell Lynch I'll be up on the Clark forum again soon.
I've found it alot more mello in here then on Bobs forum... and pissing everyone off is not what I purposly intended to do .

Like I said before, I'll get some pics up when I get my snake.

if they are going to be on display you might want to write a short paragraph or so about the animals giving some info and put it next to the cage. that way people can learn about them but you not "lecturing" them per say

Are you KIDDING? who wants to go to a halloween bash to be lectured about animals 99% of them wont like? I think taking them is a bad idea..a paragraph? even worst
