Hey Mark-

1st: I had a rough green snake. Yes, I know that they do not do well in captivity, I learned that the hard way when she died. I also learned never to buy pets from a certain pet store ever again.
2nd: I had her in a 5 gallon tank. You're giving me a hatchling right? Would that be fine? I could do a ten gallon if I need to. I have a heat lamp (but no bulb) a water dish and a hidey hole. What else do I need? What are the specifics of caring for the snake I'm getting?
Finally: if for some reason I can't make it there, could someone pick the snake up for me? Some of the people from our local pet store/supplier will be there and they said they could pick it up if I can't. Okay, I think that's all my questions. Hope to see you!

Kellie, I'll give you care sheets as I do to anyone who asks. Any of the likely snakes you'll get are great "beginner" snakes. In FL. I don't use any heat at all.In fact mine are in the a.c. to keep the ambient temps at 82.A five gallon is o.k. for a while but a ten is better after 6 mos. or so. Unless your green snake was real small, the five was not big enough for him.Undoubtedly he was a w.c. specimen also. Some eat (crickets) right away, others do not.No problem on the pick up I guess .Let me know if you need a set-up for him and I'll hook you up. email for more, Mark

Yeah Corey, you really missed the boat there! And you are quite welcome for the snake. (coulda got an unrelated male from me though ha ha!) Maybe next year I'll come up with something a little better, O.K.?
Reverendsterlin I wish I could make it out there but I can't make it work. Sold a lot of animals though at Daytona.

Sold about 100 out of 120 that I took. Most were really cheap $ 15.-$25. snakes. It pays for my weekend and "other" expenses and it's a lot of fun. Came home to a few new hatchlings.Everglades rats, corns. Nothing to change the world but still nice. Still got sinaloans, more mahogany Brook's kings due yet. Didn't get ANY pics at the show I could kick myself 'cause I like to snap a lot of 'em. Especially wanted to get those who visited me from ssnakess community. Oh well. Next time for sure. There's a show here in Tampa next month-- I'll take a few there. Thanks everyone, Mark
