I have the dvd of Strangeland it was the only copy at Best Buy. I HAD to buy it. I know down here in the states they have them at blockbuster. The first time i watched strangeland my mom was home and she decied to watch it with me. So the whole way through the movie i had to explain all the piercings, modifications, and suspension to her. She sat there and cringed the whole time. I will never forget one of the begining scenes when he took the 2 girls and they found Geniveves(sp) friend in the trunk. When they showed the ring they found i blurted out what size it was then they said it. My mom was in shock that i knew the answer. I think it was a 00 gauge if my memory serves me correct.
I was eagerly waiting for Rob Zombies house of a 1000 corpses but was entirely let down when i seen it. Nothing at all like i was expecting excpecally from Rob Zombie.

I couldn't agree more, I think someone as artistic as Zombie could have done WAY better.
But it really depends what you were expecting going into it... Rob Zombie himself said that this is a slasher film - no more, no less. And face it, as B-grade movies go, House of 1000 corpses was the best one of all time.

IT was such an awesome book. I also saw the movie, which really did the book no justice, but, that Pennywise was sure creepy. *shudder* I've never liked clowns anyways. *LOL*
House OF 100 Corpses was exactly what I expected from the mind of Rob Zombie, twisted and tripped out. I'm definitely adding that one to my B Grade collection.
God, another avatar that is kind of creepy is Youkai's! . It's from the movie Donnie Darko I believe, that was yet another crazy movie.

Hmmm,this Strangeland sounds pretty weird,I'll have to see if I can find it at the video store.
As far as horror writers go I have to say Koontz is the best I've ever read.
Although "IT" was a really good book with lots of character development I find a lot of his stories filled up with a lot of meaningless morbidity.
Has anyone read "The BAD PLACE" by Koontz...that is my all time favorite horror story.
Koontz is plenty morbid himself but he doesn't wallow in it like King does.
"The Bad Place" has got everything in it,humor,horror,romance,paranormal and perversion! A must read.

I am definetely a Stephen King fan. He's great. Have to disagree with you on Koontz. Every book is the same, same, same! It gets old after a while.

I really want to see IT. Stephen King came to my school and did a reading from one of his books (don't remember which...it's a new one) and it was such a trip to see him in person!

Every time I see your new avatar I cringe!!! ***shivers profusely*** Man I hate clowns............don't know why exactly. I love Stephen King. Bag of Bones was incredible. I really wanted to see House of a 1000 Corpses, never got the chance though. Anyone seen the ads for Cabin Fever????? Looks like a good one!

I forgot King did the Dark Tower books- I believe the 5th one is coming out in Nov- EXCELLENT!

I've read/own all four of the Dark Tower books, I really hope that the 5th one is out soon, that series really had me hooked!

Gotta love that Stepho! Loved The Stand, hated the ending. Thoroughly enjoy the Dark Tower series, Green Mile was great in serial release. The Talisman sticks out as a favorite, but I think my favorite story was his original Running Man written under Richard Bachman. That ending to that has got to be my favorite King creation.
I enjoy most of his flicks as I find them to be direct translations of the original without a lot of dramatic license taken. Unfortunately, I've been trying to get through It for the last five years and simply can't finish the last 200 pages. WTF is up with that?
