My brother and I had a competition once, we lasted about 45 hours... then he started saying things that made me cry at a CARPET commercial.... "Aww... but think of all the memories they had with that carpet! They're throwing them all away " .... that's when I decided it was bed time.

Haha I went to the Guiness World Records site to see if I could find the actual record, but it doesn't seem as though it exists....
Someone should totally claim it!!
Anyway, while I was searching I found this, it's kinda cool:
Snake Bath Tub Sitting
Jackie Bibby and Rosie Reynolds-McCasland of Texas, USA, hold the record for sitting in a bathtub with the most live rattlesnakes. Jackie and Rosie sat in two separate tubs, each with 75 Western Diamondback rattlesnakes, on September 24, 1999, in LA, California, USA. Jackie has been handling snakes since 1968. He has been married three times though is not currently married but does live with his girlfriend of several years, Vickie Morgan. His last marriage was on a TV show called Real People in a pit of 300 rattlesnakes. Rosie has been handling snakes since 1999 with a life-long friend, Steve Raines. Rosie toured a show in which she climbed into a sleeping bag that Steve filled with snakes. Then she would slowly crawl out.

The first time I stayed up all night as a kid (it was at a sleepover birthday party -- i miss those) the next day I thought Canada was in the middle of a giant war and I kept on thinking cakes were rolling around the house and attacking people. A few years ago I also tried having 36 hour days instead of 24 hour days, which didn't work out.

I once saw a program on the Discovery Channel about sleep deprovation, and I believe they detailed the story of a man, a music teacher, who could not sleep. They showed the deterioration of intelligence, motor skills and speech. Eventually the man succumbed to his illness (which I have yet to define).
Scientists still aren't sure why we NEED sleep, but lack of it has proven to be a bad thing, over and over again. I wouldn't know why anyone would want to do that to themselves.

I remember a local radio dj in my area tried to beat the world record for being on the air straight without sleep, and that was 96 hours...so just being awake is even more of a record...i remember reading something one time about being awake for 7-10 days can kill you...but i dont know the cause?

I think the longest I can remember being awake is 8 days there coulda been times longer than that cause I had a bit of help. Ive also slept and lost a whole day recovering from my stupidity.
By the way that was about 5-6 years ago I dont do that crap no more
