Mmmm....french toast. I like using sourdough bread cut nice and thick. I like your recipe, maybe you'll like mine. And yes, clean the pan after every piece(I use a large pan to cook two pieces at a time)
Fluffy French Toast
3 eggs, yolks/whites separated
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
pinch salt
pinch cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper

Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Mix egg yolks with heavy cream, add vanilla, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper. Gently fold yolk/cream mixture into egg whites. Heat pan to medium, add 1 tbsp olive oil. Dip bread into mixture(do not soak bread-dip quick to coat). Cook until golden on each side!
Yummy!

I love cooking too! Maybe when your my neighbour you will make me some of your yummy french toast! It sounds great, thanks for sharing it with us As for me I never follow specific recipes for any of the stuff I make... just sorta go with it... I make my French Toast with eggs, milk, salt, vanilla, spices... butter in a pan... THICK slices of italian bread (multigrain bread works well too as it adds great taste and texture - not the kind you find at a grocery store, the kind you make or get at a market)... cooked so its nice and golden brown on the outside, and gooey like boogers on the inside, sprinkled with icing sugar and drizzled with maple syrup :flick:

Mmmmm.........the icing sugar adds the perfect touch! In the summer, fresh fruit sauce is good too! Has anyone ever tried chocolate sauce? It is too die for!(of course, I'm a choco-holic)

I've never tried to make french toast. I'll attempt it this summer.

Now, if you ever want an incredible steak, I can cook that. My steaks are better than anybodies I've ever had. Even my friends and brother will tell you that.

No, I'm not bragging.
