No, not yet unfortunately. Gotta keep watching movies and look at his attitude a bit more. I like the suggestions but nothing is truly sticking in my mind. My significant other said his name should be Buns, so I joked around saying "his full name shall be Bunjamin or Bunedict", lol. Of course, Buns just doesn't cut it for for me. Maybe for a nickname

Re: Thanks to Those!

He had a fresh shed today Came off splendidly and in one piece, eye caps and all. Took advantage of the light shining in through a window as it's too cold for "natural lighting" and my house has yellow-ish lights that bother me. He will be left alone again until he has his first meal with me (which shall be soon). First time posting pictures so bare with me, aha.
He was a real tiny wriggle worm, lol. Respect to the breeder for that still shot.

Re: Thanks to Those!

I found him dead this morning. Everything was up to par in his enclosure but he did refuse food, so I was waiting 4-5 days.
I'm so devastated. I contacted the breeder. I don't know what they're going to do. I don't know what caused it.

With him dying so soon, with no other symptoms but refusing food, chances are it's not your fault. The only thing I could think of on your end would be a temp spike....

Please consider getting a necropsy done, it will give you and the breeder answers, and easier to hold them accountable depending on the outcome. Getting necropsies done also helps our hobby as a whole by adding knowledge of ailments and their commonality.

I am hoping it's not too late to preserve his body, make sure to store it in a fridge not freezer. If it is too late, then communication with the breeder is your best bet to get answers. I'm so so sorry for your loss.

Thank you everyone. I found the source. It wasn't the breeder, twas' I. My little cousin came over two days ago and now checking over everything the UTH wasn't plugged into the thermostat, so it was off. I really can't pay until two weeks due to paying for the snake stuff myself and my parent's being tight on money. I know, not ideal, but it's only because my horse had an expensive vet bill to take care of. I generally peek in every 20 minutes because I'm a worry wort but I've been in the hospital and wasn't able to do so, owner error. I hope I didn't make it sound like I wanted a free animal. I told them (not in exact words) that I know it was my fault and if we could work something out for another purchase that would be great and I understand it's out of their control once the animal leaves their shop/home. I'm not sure quite what to do with the body as so much look at it. There was absolutely no signs of him shutting down or anything that I know of, but, it may have happened and I was too sick to realize. Again, thank you all. Endlessly waiting on the breeder for a reply but we did exchange some emails back and forth earlier today about it.

Re: Thanks to Those!

I would not have thought the uth being unplugged even for a couple of days would have caused it unless your ambient room temperature got very low.so I would not be blaming yourself quite so quickly.

What are your normal day and night room temps where the snake was kept?

So sorry for your loss. I know it's a devastating blow. Everything happens for a reason so try to stay positive in your outlook and learn from your experiences.

I checked it with the thermometer probe and it was about 61F (16C) but that's during the day. I'd imagine it drops to 55F-ish (13C-ish) as it's 42F (5.5C) outside currently (I'm not allowed to touch the heat on the house). I've been trying to heat that room up and with me monitoring it stayed about 77F (25C) for ambient. It's different in my room since where the boa was is quite barren, I don't know if that would affect anything, but it's bad at keeping heat now that I know. My room keeps heat very well but that was the only other room to quarantine the boa in, unless I can get away with quarantining in my room just in separate areas (Sid, my ball python is in my walk-in closet).
If I had the funds right now I'd definitely get a necropsy, just one of those bad timings. Well, death is anyways.
I will certainly take this as a learning experience. Thank you, Danny and Albert.

Re: Thanks to Those!

For what is worth you can get thermostats and digital thermometers with a low temperature alarm. May be worth looking at in the future.

I have a Herpstat 2 for my BP but I just got a Bean Farm/Jump Start Hygrometer while the boa was being monitored. I'd generally peek in every 20 minutes because I'm a worry wort but I've been in the hospital and wasn't able to do so, but yes, another may have helped. Are there ones that aren't as costly for temporary usage?

Re: Thanks to Those!

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to pick up a thermometer from Amazon with a low temp alarm for not a lot of money to use in conjunction with a stat.
