Yeah but that's because they're looking at it with profit in mind rather than the actual health of the hobby as a whole....
I think the prices on some species are too low, however you find the people who complain about "market saturation" are morph breeders who are gutted when the price drops for a certain morph... This attitude is what pushes the price of so called "normals" down to worthless.

We have many, many species of jumping spider in the US. They've always been my favorites, as far as native spiders, where I live. I used to watch them hunt on our porches when I was growing up.

Possibly-depends on the breeder / store but yes agree this will be the case sometimes. To counter though profitability wouldn't necessarily go up because you would in all likelihood have fewer customers but at least they'd be serious.
Completely agree re the price of normals (although for someone like me this is a good thing!).
Back to the spider-how big will she get and what's her housing requirements. I need to look into something like that

Almost every breeder is in it for the money mate, if not they'd give half of what they breed away like myself....
Crackerjack will get about 1 inch legspan, which is big for a jumping spider... Housing wise, I'm using the glass enclosures that I use for my mantis, so about 6"x6" floor space and about a foot in height... Very active little things, so she may get a bigger one if she needs it.

I love jumpers!!! I had several in and around my house in Idaho...I have pics somewhere of some really neat marked ones, and had a couple that were massive!

Just changed her to a bigger version of the glass enclosure she was in... This one is identical but opens at the front... That way I shouldn't destroy her next when I need to open it. She's been moved from the right side enclosure to the left one!

Does she have a name yet? If not you should call her Charlotte after the clever spider in Charlotte's Web.
