I'm sure it happened more than once. And it was probably good information, but not a good POINT.

Regardless, this is not the thread to argue your personality flaws.

Your animal in your picture doesn't look that bad. It certainly doesn't look like it hasn't eaten in a few months as it still seems to have good body weight in your picture.

Is it active to any degree?

What did your vet say?

Did your vet say you can take the tail off without any massive surgery as you think it should have? Again, if it's not as close to the body as it seems in the one picture then you should be able to accomplish it sooner than later with no real ill effects to the animal.

Chin up as I am not quite sure it's as dire as you think it is. I certainly hope it's much better and that it improves.

Re: I dont know why I do this to myself...Iguana

Iguanas are great pets, I had one for many years, but they are not great pets for lazy people living in trailer types. They need a huge cage, UV lighting, and fairly warm temps and basking spots. Then you have to actually pay attention to the type of diet you're feeding them. Mine wouldn't eat if anyone else chopped up and fed him his veggies not sure if it was a smell thing or what. I also built a large outdoor cage for mine and while perhaps not mandatory, I felt like it was a real benefit for him to get to go outside in a cage large enough to not be at risk of overheating and be able to get some natural sunshine. Sorry don't mean to rant but they are such great pets, I hate it when some idiot doesn't take the proper care of them. I try to stay away from local reptile groups and craigslist because I just cannot stand the stupidity of much of the human race lol At least the people who bother to register for forums really want help and are willing to research.

He is lucky to have come home with you, but the previous owner should be charged with animal cruelty, locked up, and not be properly fed or provided medical care for.... I'm old testament lol
