I can vouch for this. I have two of the VE-300X2 models each controlling the ambient with a radiant heat panel and the hot spot with a UTH on two separate tanks. They're extraordinarily easy to program and very precise (since they're proportionate and not ON/OFF). They are also stackable for a nice clean look.

They're a bit pricey though, I can definitely see the deterrent there. In my defense, I use those for my two bigger setups and use the Hygrotherms mentioned above for all my smaller ones.

ok thats good to know... like i said, i have a king snake, so i dont really need to be exact with temperature. when i get another that requires more of a significant heat source than a heat pad, ill compare the other thermostats mentioned above.
