I'm mostly starting this thread so that I can give people a quick link to pictures of what Karl looks like when the question comes up, but I'll probably update it on rare occasions until it gets deleted or I forget about it.
Anyway, Karl is one of Vin Russo's Costa Rican boas (BCI). More specifically, he's a Liberia (town in northern Costa Rica) locality and direct descendent of the Costa Rican BCI's at Zoocriadero World of Snakes in Grecia, Alajuela, Costa Rica (mentioned in
The Complete Boa Constrictor).
