Call foul if you like I've done nothing wrong I ask for advice and all got was belittled for trying to protect my animal hardly good forum etiquette thought this was a different forum.
All I've done is stop the snake from injuring himself I would call that being responsible.

Re: Some advice required.

Relax people... Obviously constantly changing where the snake is, isn't helping the situation. Just put the snake back in the viv (with already clean water bowls) and leave him be for a week or so. Obviously change water every 2 days but that's it, if he bites/strikes while changing water just leave him be..

Putting them in 2 bags for 24 hrs risks a build up of Co2 in my opinion (put your head inside 2 pillowcases n seal at the neck for an hour).. This bag method is a quick fix not a solution and not a great idea.

Re: Some advice required.

Like in said in my OP I'm not a newbie to keeping snakes I've been keeping snakes for a long time but I've never experienced anything like this with any snakes I've kept so I didn't expect to be belittled.
You've treated me like a newbie with little or no knowledge of snakes, yes I understand a snake behavior changes around breeding time but in this instance the behaviour was extreme certainly not corn snake behavior hence why I was concerned.
Tbh I'm quite offended.

Re: Some advice required.

Then look at what external issues could be causing the behaviour if your convinced it's not hormones from breeding season.. Stress from noise/vibrations or perhaps over due upping a prey size.

We've only got a limited view on what could be causing it as we're not there with you.

Re: Some advice required.

Bagging him actually calmed him down whilst you may not liked my methods it worked so I see that as a positive,I didn't leave him for the full 24hrs like I intended to just over night which was enough.
He came out of the bag no issues I've checked him over and none the worse for wear, he's got a little bit of dried blood on the inside of his nostrils but other than that he's fine.
Yes he's still very alert and on edge but he's not striking like he was and he's sloped off into his hide.
Looking at the external problems I can't see any that really jump out, he's not in high traffic area so I know that's not the cause and the foods deffo not issue.
The only other thing that has crossed my mind is the change in weather we've had quite bad weather here so it maybe down to air pressure caused by the bad weather.

Son, you asked for advice but then when it didn't go with what you wanted to do you took "drastic" measures that were unnecessary.

I have been keeping animals for just about 2 decades and in that time I have had the luck of working in places that put me in contact with many species and many of them.

In that time I have NEVER once had to bag a snake to 'calm' it down NOR have I EVER seen a snake injure it's mouth and "drip blood" from it. Corns, kings, white lips, water pythons, burms, etc. etc. Not ONCE.

If there ever was an injury to the nose/face it was from repeated hits over a prolonged period of times and removing the animal from a high traffic area to a low traffic area worked. Or from a viv to a tub.

Belittle? You feel belittled because someone questions your actions and pokes holes in your story? The only sentence i made that could be even considered slightly belittling is this one: "If you can't handle this without bagging the animal i would seriously consider what you are doing, what if he doesn't stop?'

But this is meant to give you a reality check! not to 'belittle' you. I never said anything about your snake keeping experience in general, you are the one who brought that up. If you rather take advice from a 'keeper who also breeds', Then why do you even bother asking here? I bred corns when i was 8 btw, i don't see why that would make anyone experienced. You feel offended? I feel offended! I made a real afford trying to get my opinion/experience across without trampling you, and you act up! If you can't handle the cold hard reality, or someone telling you the truth.. You shouldn't be on any forum.. It has nothing to do with 'Forum etiquette'. I was an inch away from sugarcoating everything i said to you.

Humping is caused by completely natural hormones... But why neuter if beating the dog works fine right? <- this is how i read your 'whilst you may not liked my methods it worked so I see that as a positive' Good luck with your unearthly aggressive corn snake, don't expect another well thought out reply from me if you keep this act up.
