Yeah, California. Found him in San Diego county around 5500 feet.

Cool! How's the weather up there? I lived in NoCal for a while. Keeping a Arizona mountain King now. They look very similar, nice subspecies. Mine is a young female who just came off a feeding strike. That guy you caught , are you keeping him? Lol.
