Cool Here's my Retic

His name is Lorax, he's an Lavender Albino Goldenchild.
Got him from prehistoric pets. He's pretty laid back. Awesome color which is why I got him. So far he's been awesome. Unfortunately I'm in a battle with mites. Using provent a mite and a spray on him. Took him to the vet he recieved an ivermectin injection but don't know what else to do. Substrate has been changed 4 time. he's on aspen. I was advised to put him on astro turf by my vet. Anyone use this?

Re: Here's my Retic

Stunning little retic, but you need to get him off the astro turf and onto paper towels or newspaper asap. Astro turf will be a breeding ground for the mites

News paper is better? I thought it was funny my vet said astro turf. He's on aspen right now actually, I haven't gotten the astro turf yet. I'll try news paper

Re: Here's my Retic

Look up the 'nix treatment' in curing the mite problem. I purchased an adult female red tail boa about a year ago that was infested with mites. She was cured within a week with the nix treatment. It'll cost you around 50 bucks, but it's worth it. You can do it yourself at home very easy and effectively. And it will save you a fortune not going to the vet. Good luck.

Re: Here's my Retic

Nice retic. I hear provent-a-mite and nix are the best mite treatments, but I think nix is a bit easier to find. I agree with putting him on paper towel.

Re: Here's my Retic

I don't usually like albino morphs but that is a cool looking snake.

Re: Here's my Retic

Did you try the nix treatment yet? It's 100 percent safe to spray the mixture onto the snake. Don't spray inside the water bowl.
