Blue eyed Lucy - advice needed

My husband and I are planning on getting a Blue eyed Lucy (super mojave python) and we would like to know if there are any known issues with that particular species. Also, the one we found is not completely white, it has a yellow line along his spine. Is that normal? We never had one, so we don't know much about it.
Thanks for sharing your opinion.

Super Mojaves are not perfectly white. They have a "dirty" head. BELs that come from lesser x Mojave are whiter. The yellow stripe is more a trait of ivorys which are super yellowbelly

White weddings are suuuuper white.

But as far as any nuro issues or anything like the head wobble of a slider, I believe that BELs are pretty normal and according to some breeders, some of the most docile of the BP morphs. I haven't heard of any eating issues or other health issues, but it won't be the most active snake.

Good luck.

Thanks, guys, I appreciate it. We will see if we can get this little guy in the next couple of weeks. After that, we will be looking at finding a purple passion.

Here's a picture of the little guy. We didn't get to see him yet, just in pics.

There is one known issue and that is sometimes BEL have "bug eyes". Eyes that bug out of their heads. I do not know if they occur in Super Mojos.

As lady_bug said they tend to have a dirty head. The white stripe does occur in BELs at times. Usually it's quite faint.

I may stand corrected on this, but I have heard that the BEL'S can also present with spinal kinking and duckbilling of the head. When you examine the one you want to purchase be sure to look for these genetic malformations or question the seller. Buyer beware! Good luck. Just be careful.

BELs aren't known for this.

Yes.

I don't see them often either. It's rare.

Re: Blue eyed Lucy - advice needed

I've not heard of the bug eyes in a BP BEL, just the Texas ratsnakes BELs.
