lets see whats rare out there

If youve got something unique lets see it. Not looking for morphs here (as much as there are many rare and unique morphs). Lets show off some of our rare species we dont all see in every pet store and expo. I think my beakies are my most obscure species. Lets see what else is out there and let us know why they're rare in the hobby.

I believe the rufous beaked snakes are rare due to the fact I havent heard of any successful captive breeding.

I have a pair of timor pythons and an aussie water python. Not the rarest but not exactly common. I don't have any pictures available on my work computer.

OP, are you talking about rare as a species or rare in the pet trade?

My Mangrove Pit Viper. I haven't seen a lot of people keeping them.

I have a Trimeresurus yunnanensis- Yunnan Province Bamboo pit viper. This species was only discovered about 5 years ago and this girl was one of the first shipment into this country. She's small and alert, and has a really uniquely flat, angry-looking head.

What are the reasons that make these guys rare in the trade. aside from being hots of course.
