What's your favourite snake family?
Pick which one you like the most, and share a little bit about why.

Elapidae. Their beauty. Their defensive gestures are impressive.

I'm with Jerry 100%. Elapidae are my favorite, just not something I would personally own.

Re: What's your favourite snake family?
Boas tops it for me with pythons a close second, colubrids third. I've only owned those 3 though so I may be missing out

Re: What's your favourite snake family?
I would have taken Elapidae, but since i can't keep them here, i took pythons. Because there are lots of species in this family and they have the Burmese and retics, i'm a sucker for big snakes

Re: What's your favourite snake family?
When it comes down to it I would have rather voted for all, but being restricted to one family I chose boidae because I have a real soft spot for my little boas. I wish elapids or any venemous snake was legal in my state.

I have the same preference order, never had any real desire for venomous. Red tail boas are my favorite handling snake, most content to hang out with a chair or couch potato on the net or watching tv. Easier to breed too, live young, no eggs to incubate.
Pythons are beautiful, and some have awesome dispositions too, but not quite the same calm energy as boas. Never did care for bp's, but loving my carpet.
Colubrids are great for wide color/pattern variety, often easier to maintain and most often much less $ than other types.

Re: What's your favourite snake family?
The one in front of me is my favorite.lol. I can't really say I have a favorite.... But I went with pythons because that seems to be all the snakes I keep; aside from a yellow anaconda, and a C. Albolabris.
