maybe it is the baseboard heating but it is very low humidity in my place, to the point that it actually bothers me and i have gotten nosebleeds at times, for most of my animals i use 9 inch diameter water dishes and keep them on the warm side to have them evaporate a bit more, still gets pretty dry in there.

I also have a rainbow boa which needs to be kept pretty humid so i usually just give the rest a sprits when i do his

You are missing the point. It does not matter how low the humidity is in your house, or if you put the water bowel on the hot side of your enclosure. The humidity is controled by the ventilation you have in your enclosure. Reduce the ventilation and the humidity will go up. Reduce the ventilation enough and you can cause it to condensate on the walls of the enclosure.
