Re: success

Just remember that using a hook to pull out a snake really isn't a solution. the solution should be getting your snake used to YOU. And a snake hook doesn't produce heat like you, and it doesn't smell like you either. So you should only use the hook until you think he's calm enough to pick up with your hands. this is just my opinion.

I somewhat disagree.

Taking a snake out with a hook is less stressful for the snake because of the heat signature/smell point you made. Once the snake is out you can place the snake on you and start handling it that way. It's a less stressful interaction than going in there and grabbing the snake.

As I mentioned before in another thread, using a hook to handle my snakes helped tons in taming down otherwise aggressive snakes of mine.

Re: success

Well I have to say when I picked him up with the "hook" he was way more calmer than he had ever been when I used my hand he never acted out before but was always a little tense and today he wasnt tense and as soon as he was out I put him into my other hand and it worked great

That's why I said I'd only use one until my snake was calm enough to get out with my hand

Guess I misread that. I thought you said use a hook only when your snake is calm enough to get out with your hand.
