Re: My California King Snake

Great looking snake. Have you had her for her entire life? 14 years old is a testament to good care. What all do you feed her? It looks like she's eating a chick in one of the pics. My kings are just 3 months (Sasha Fierce) and 8 months (Hannibal Caesar). I'm looking forward to seeing them live long, healthy lives. Thanks for the positive example. All the best.

I've had her for just over half her life. She eats rats, mice, and chicks depending on what she fancies.

J-you feed your king mice, rats and chicks? How well does that work for you? Is she a problem feeder? Does she refuse one prey for another or willingly accept whats offered? I was asking about diversified diets in another post and a few folks were discouraging it saying a strictly mice diet is sufficient, which I believe is true, I just wanted to offer my little ones a little variety sometimes. I guess it's working well for you ?
