Re: Corn Snake Pictures

I would use paper towel for a couple of months because if parasites. I would also feed it a rat pup or weaned rat. As for hides if you lower the red hide by cutting the walls shorter it will be fine. Everyone says tubs act as hides because they're opaque so why wouldn't the red box work?

Can mites hide under scales or something? I checked him very thoroughly and another local reptile keeper inspected him as well and said he looked clean as far as he could tell by looking. He inspected the snake for a good five-ten minutes so he'd have found mites if they can't hide.

Mites actually burrow under the scales to feed. I would also keep it on paper towel because of internal parasites.

I wouldn't recommend letting anybody else handle your collection as that is the quickest way to allow disease into it.

I agree, unless they washed their hands thoroughly in front off you. I don'y let any little kids in family touch them and an adult I make wash. lol

I've held him (I always wash my hands before and after... even with my BP and I know he's clean.), my friend, Stormy, held him because he's the one who actually spotted and caught the snake, and one of other friends, James, who's also a reptile keeper. I made James wash his hands, but Stormy couldn't.. Unless he saw the snake, ran home, washed his hands, went back , and caught it LOL
I will put him back on paper towels, though, and see what happens. *crosses fingers* hope he's clean..
