Seems like most reptile forums are dying
I remember a few years ago, most forums I were on were much more active. I wonder why. What are the most popular or largest reptiles forums today?

Re: Seems like most reptile forums are dying
Not a real appropriate question. But believe it or not this is one of the more active boards. Forums I find are cyclical in nature. Sometimes they're busy and sometimes they are slow. Usually it swings back around.

Re: Seems like most reptile forums are dying
This forum is a very active forum, one of the top ten busiest on the net.
Heck, I would wager within the top five.

What's inappropriate about it? I'ts an observation I made about reptile forums and a question asked about the observation.

Re: Seems like most reptile forums are dying
You asked which forums were the most active. I would consider that the same as asking members of this forum to promote others.
Therefore its inappropriate, at least I think so

It's not inappropriate in itself. You didn't seem to include any forum names, nor idicate that anything was wrong with ssnakess.
I have made the very same observation.
Even RFUK seems to be a little slow.
Kingsnake is all but dead at the moment.
However, ssnakess is busy as ever, I see that as we must be doing something right.

Re: Seems like most reptile forums are dying
This is the most active forum I found. Most of the other ones took days for replies and seemed dead. People actually post here.

That's fair, however I wasn't putting this forum down. I just wanted to see if there were other forums to join as well. Not really a loss for this forum since you can have accounts on different ones.

Re: Seems like most reptile forums are dying
Mainly the reason I chose to join these wonderful forums. I checked my old haunts (constrictor forums, bob clark) and they weren't nearly as active. BC forums don't exist anymore and Mike Wilbanks' forums are more ball python centered.

Re: Seems like most reptile forums are dying
I think forums will be a bit slower presently as summer is only around the corner (in the northern hemisphere anyway) people are spending a bit more time away from their computers in general and getting outside.

Re: Seems like most reptile forums are dying
So do you guys think the hobby is slowly fading away? I know not everyone who owns reptiles posts on forums but if it's true there could be a relation.

No I don't (over here anyway). Even in these times of recessions there are still lots of new people getting into the hobby.
