Unidentified Brown Snake (Storeria dekayi) pictures

Hello. I caught a brown snake last summer and took two pictures of it. I let it loose after a little bit. I have found several around here in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Can anybody tell what subspecies he is from the pictures? Enjoy.

I think it's a northern water snake.

Nope, that is certainly a Storeria Dekayi, but very rich in brick red pigment.

I was trying to make it strike so that I might get a lucky picture of it while striking haha. If I start looking I might see many of these snakes. They are active during night but I have heard from one video I watched that they are diurnal (I have seen a two in the streets during the night).
