lol i found that adding the sand/soil mix in the enclosure was the hardest part for me lol... its very time consuming and seems like it never gets full no matter how much you put in it!!!! your enclosure looks good i have been following and watching, can't wait to see the finished product!!

lol @ your back killing you... i tried at least 100 diff ways of mixing that stuff lol there is no easy way.. i wanted to put it all in a cement mixer and open the roof of my house up and just dump it all in lol... was the only option i saw that was good lmfao... unfortunately i was stuck with dumping 2 bags of each in and shovel * dig turn, dig turn, dig turn* lol.. yes it will be worth it in the end... im planning on adding more soil/sand too soon, kinda dreading it though lol for 1, i dont wanna mess up the borrow my sav has that he loves, and 2 dun wanna do it all over again lmfao ...

Looks very nice. Are you just gonna lean logs on the shelf for access or a latter of some sort?

Re: Savannah Monitor enclosure build (pics)

the substrate will come up pretty much flush with it. i put it in purley coz the wood holds the heat better on the basking spot. nead to go to the woods at some point for logs ect.

Re: Savannah Monitor enclosure build (pics)

lol not in the good way, yup, but in a way it IS good, you will be super happy once you get him in there and get to watch him explore his new home! i took TONS of pictures!! lol.. actually i just took this one today, when i turn off all his lights at night he goes down to his hole and goes to sleep. once i get up in the morning i turn on all the lights and it starts to warm up again and he starts popping his head out to get up and run around! this is my fav part of the day, when he wakes up and comes out in the open so i can pet him and say hello

dont worry hes not missing toes lol.. they are covered in dirt :P
