What a beautiful girl! Have you had her since she was a hatchling or was she already older when you got her?

Re: And more Hog Island pics ;)
only about a month now , she was given up to a pet shop by one of the workers who wanted to breed corns instead and he got her as a baby so she was very tame and he was a good with her , she had only been there 5 days . I was able to get all the info from him about her line and the breeder luckily so once i find a good male I'll try to breed her next year or so.

Oh yeah, I remember reading the post about when you got her (I just didn't remember your screen name). What a great find! I wish you luck in finding a male to complement her, a bet she's make some nice babies

Re: And more Hog Island pics ;)
now here is a photo of a hog from the actual island taken 2004 , it shows how people have been breeding different traits over the years . this is as they look in their natural enviroment.

What's so cool about that shot is my girl actually looks VERY much like that in her dark phase. That purple/blue color between the saddles is amazing, and in many ways, I think I like her dark phase even better than the light! I'll try to shoot some decent pics of her dark phase and post them. Great shot!

Re: And more Hog Island pics ;)
yep you can see how people have selectivley bred for pinks and oranges in many lines . I have emailed the island research station there today to see if they will send me some more current photos .
