You might also find logs or other odd items to put in his enclosure for a week or so, then remove them and replace with something else. My folks do something like that with the cats' toys. Mixing up what is out for them to play with helps to keep them interested. When items they haven't seen for a week or two are reintroduced, they usually show renewed interest in them.
