Hello! (New snake owner)
Hello everyone! I'm so pleased to join the forum. It's great to learn from experts and share experiences with other snake owners!
I've been the owner of a 1-2 year old red-tailed Colombian boa, who I've named Basil (from "A Clockwork Orange") for about 6 weeks. She's the snake in both my avatar and my profile picture. She's about 4ft in length, has a tight grip, adventurous but docile. She's never once struck at me, even during shed or feeding.
When I first acquired her from a private breeder, she had a bad RTI. I was told she may not live, and I should return her to get my money back. But I couldn't stand to place her back in the hands of the breeder. I took her to the vet and, one week and 110 dollars later, she's healthy as ever!

Welcome! Was the RI from your husbandry or the breeders? Just curious what caused it, lack of heat?

She had it the week I got her. Most of the snakes in the one room were. Most of it was heated with a space heater, it was in an attic room with three windows. After I had her for about a week she seemed to be doing better (probably from less stress too), but I still took her to the veterinarian.
