Lets see your Terrarium
I would like to see what your terrarium looks like for your sand boa. Need some ideas

My terrarium is a 20gal aquarium with a heating pad under one third and a lamp over the other side. I use aspen chips so my ksb can tunnel as much as she wants. The water dish sits at the coolest point of my tank and I have various pieces of drift wood placed on the substrate for "decoration" with one piece being a little bit heavier with good places for Eryx to rub against during her shed. I'll try to get a picture of it in the next day or two, but I am having trouble finding the software to get my camera to connect with my computer. BTW, the 'cool' side sits at ~85 degrees under the lamp while the warm side is ~92 degrees at the bottom due to the heating pad. I only put a humid hide in during Eryx's sheds.

I never really liked the glass terrariums much, i use them for a few things but for the most part i try to stay away from them.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. This was exactly what I was looking for. I have a heating pad over about 3/4 and a small one on the rest... I dont have the small one on and thought I should put the heat on the side with the pad. Thanks for your help

After learnign the hard way these snakes can and will climb and wedge themselves under the lid and get out of a non weighted lid. We have since removed all tall things from the tanks and can't wait for our KSB rack to arrive.
Rough scales on the other hand don't seem to climb, at least ours doesn't
Another thing we have changed to are ceramic heating elements on top instead of under tank heaters. We got a zoo med rheostat but it really doesn't seem to do much to regulate the heat, thankfully having it rested on the metal grating of the lid it ill heat the surface from 95-100 which is perfect for them for a hot spot. after putting a probe on the bottom by the uth it was reading 120+ and for a burrowing animal we got a little worried. Learning as we go

I'm no pro but I hope the lamp you have on the other side is just for light and not heating? That will make it hard if not impossible for the snake to cool down having heat on either side of the tank. Sorry I should have actually READ everything before i posted lol, guess I need to see pics

That would be a faunarium in the UK - we keep young snakes in them before transferring them to a full size vivarium. I take it from the pic that it is plastic? Not glass?

yh its the exo terra large faunarium, i just got alittle confused between faun and terrarium, my bad

Lol no worries - didnt even click in my head that you were in the UK!  I know a lot of the things we use have different names across the pond so just assumed that was what they were called over there.
