Re: Yay! Khan ate :)

The mouse was about same size is the diameter of Khan... He had no buldge at all! I tried the plate with an edge and he would only take the mouse when I wiggled it above his nose as he poked out of the sand... Could I have handled him too quick? I had him out before he threw it up but this was about 12 hoursafter he ate that I had him out. I know hes hungry bc he has his nose poking out waiting for me to wiggle another.

be carefull when handling young gtp's as they have very easy to damage spines.thats the reason they don't get sexed until at least a year old as it can leave them with kinks in their spines

its always good to have dettatchable perches so you just lift the whole perch out with the gtp still on it

cheers shaun

i give all my snakes 3 days for digestion before handling

at a push 2 days minimum before handling

a snake needs at leat 48 to 72 hours to properly digest a meal

it also needs correct temperatures to aid digestion so make sure your hot end temps are perfect

if he regurges again i would get his poo tested for parasites, etc

you also want to leave him 2 weeks before his next feeding attempt in order to let his stomach get back to normal

cheers shaun
